FAQ
Questions
from chat.
How much memory does a long session use?
A 3-hour session analyses in well under 500 MB of memory. Lossless cutting is a stream copy of the file you already have.
Does it work if I stream solo?
Yes. One recording is enough, whether you stream alone or with other people in the same session. Crew is optional, for when each of you has your own recording.
What can I drop in?
It works with your recorded VODs and mic tracks. Anything you already have as a local file.
Will it post for me?
Nothing posts without you. LootCut only keeps drafts on your machine.
What is the browser preview on the beta page?
It's a limited, in-browser demo of the editor UI using one local file you pick. Your file never leaves your device. Real clipping, across a full session, runs in the LootCut desktop app.
When does the beta open?
Soon, in small waves. The signup form isn't live yet.
Where does my footage go?
Today, nowhere we can see. The browser preview stays in the tab, and clipping runs on your machine. We don't keep a copy, so there is nothing of yours for us to retain or delete. The longer statement is on the how-it-works page, under Your footage.
